I stepped into my first management role more excited to grow an office plant than to grow the team that counted on me.

 

I hadn't given the 'people' part of my responsibilities much thought.

Unsurprisingly, neither the plant nor I survived, and I feared management roles for many years. 

 

Committed to becoming a more confident and impactful leader, I spent the next two decades turning barriers into breakthroughs and mistakes into momentum.

 

As I fell in love with cultivating both people and plants, I noticed something powerful. The most important lessons are the same... ​
